Rehabilitation Centers
Changing Lives,
Restoring Families and
Transforming Nations by
Making Disciples of
The Lord Jesus Christ
Three years ago we began to support Sasha, a national missionary who ministers in 12 prisons in Transnistria. He himself spent ten years in prison for drug and alcohol-related crimes before receiving Jesus Christ as his savior. We have joined him many times in prisons for men and women as he has taught them the Word of God and baptized them. What was missing in the nation was a way to help them get stabilized and return to a normal life after they got out of prison. We prayed and asked the Lord to make a way.
God has provided the perfect location for a rehabilitation center. Our ministry joined with local brothers in securing property in a village in the northern part of Transnistria near the major city of Ribnita. Up to ten men reside there. Some were imprisoned for 29 to 35 years. They study the Bible together daily. They are regaining their self-esteem as they raise pigs, rabbits, cows, and chickens. A partner recently donated financial resources to purchase sheep and goats. They are able to support themselves with what they raise, and they are trusting God to help them increase their production so that they can provide for others.
God has opened another door for us to love the most rough, the most downcast and to extend His mercy toward them.
National missionary Alexandru got delivered from a lifestyle of alcoholism and violence. He spent four years in the United States, but God called him to return home and minister to those struggling with addictions. He returned to Transnistria and located a piece of land with buildings so that they could start the work. Now there is a place for men who were previously hopeless to have opportunity for a new life.
The project goal is to provide a healing center for 30 men and 15 women where they can become self-sufficient. Growing crops and raising small animals is a vital part of restoring self-esteem as the residents learn to support themselves.
Someone you know and love may be struggling to overcome the ravages of addiction. God knows their need and hears your prayers for them. As you are a part of giving a second chance to these men and women you do not know, we stand with you to believe for the deliverance of that one so near to your own heart.
