Changing Lives,

Restoring Families and Transforming Nations by
Making Disciples of
The Lord Jesus Christ
The Founders of GMI
Ghiorghi, a native of Romanesti, Romania, fled the oppression of communism with his wife Cristina in 1990 and came to the United States.  Two years later they heard and received the true Gospel message.  By 1993 they had achieved the American dream and owned a business, but God had other plans.

As a result of an auto collision in 1995 that nearly took their lives, Ghiorghi had an encounter with the Lord.  One question was ringing in his heart.  “What have I done in my life since receiving salvation?”  At that moment he responded to the call of God and committed to fulfill his life’s purpose of reaching the lost for Jesus Christ.

Ghiorghi and Cristina established Gospel Ministries International, Inc. in 1996.  God opened the door for ministry in America as well as the Philippines, India, and Mexico. They were ordained as missionaries by the International Ministerial Association (IMA) in 1997.

In 1998 God called them to return to Eastern Europe.  In 2000, after a time of preparation, they returned to Eastern Europe to accomplish the vision God gave them of changing lives, restoring families and transforming nations by making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This vision is being accomplished through a network of over 50 Godly men and women supported by GMII through church planting, bible school training, leadership training, prison ministry, rehabilitation centers, reaching the younger generation through summer camps, ministry to orphans and the elderly.

Ghiorghi and his wife Cristina (co-founder of GMII) have been married for almost 20 years and have 5 adopted children.

Ministry Statement of Faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, his sinless life, his miracles, his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, his bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - those who are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and the fulfillment of the Great Commission of preaching the Gospel to the lost before his return.

About Eastern Europe
Iasi, Romania (the European headquarters for the ministry) is a city of about 350,000 and was the former capital of Moldova. It was the historical residence of kings and poets and is filled with architectural monuments including buildings by Eiffel. It is the largest university location in the country, boasting 35,000 students, many of whom are international students, primarily from the Middle East and Asia.
Romania's Background:
Soviet occupation following World War II led to the formation of a Communist "peoples republic" in 1947 and the abdication of the king. The decades-long rule of dictator Nicolae CEAUSESCU and his Securitate police state became increasingly oppressive and draconian through the 1980s. CEAUSESCU was overthrown and executed in late 1989. Former communists dominated the government until 1996 when they were swept from power by a fractious coalition of center-right parties.
Today the Communist Party, renamed the Party of Social Democracy, rules in cooperation with the ethnic Hungarian minority rights party. The country applied in June 1993 for membership in the European Union (EU). It became an Associated State of the EU in 1995, an Acceding Country in 2004, and a member on January 1, 2007.
